My name is Ifunanya Madueke.

I started this blog a few years ago, then stepped away from it, and from writing publicly, for longer than I expected. Coming back now feels less like starting over and more like returning with more language, more patience, and a clearer sense of what I want this space to be.

Mọ́rìnọ́lá is where I think in public. It’s a place for essays, questions, and reflections on home, identity, culture, and the small, often uncomfortable feelings that sit beneath them. I’m less interested in conclusions than I am in honesty, and in writing that resists spectacle in favour of thoughtfulness.

I won’t try to tell you who I am in a few neat sentences. Instead, I’ll let the writing do that work over time. My hope is that this space becomes a site of return, for me, and maybe for you too, as we think through what it means to be Nigerian, with honesty and intention.
